It’s been a long time since I wanted to try eyelashes extensions. False eyelashes with glue are not very practical and they always end up taking off in a corner at the end of the evening. Not so glamorous during a wedding or whatever, even worse when you forgot your glue at home lol.
Then while having a coffee with a nice girl that I met through social media, I kept staring at her beautiful eyelashes and I ended up asking her for a contact (mentioned a little lower). I was hesitating to make an appointment and actually the appointment came to me. I immediately accepted.
What are extensions?
Eyelash extensions are silk-fibre or micro-fiber eyelashes that are glued one by one on natural lashes. It is the “eyelash by eyelash” method, in order to lengthen and thicken our natural lashes.
There are several services such as complete laying, laying at 2/3, laying at external corners or retouching. There are also several styles such as natural volume (1D, 2D), sophisticated (3D, 4D) or Russian volume (5D, 6D).

My natural lashes
My eyelashes are naturally black, long and quite filled. I always hear nice comments and compliments when I get a makeup done by professionals. So I wasn’t looking to get more length but rather volume, while remaining natural.
And it’s obviously a way to look good for some time without needing to put and remove mascara every day…
What you need to know
- The first 48 hours after the treatment, you should avoid water or steam to get into contact with your eyelashes. Avoid going to the pool or taking baths.
- Do not use mascara. Especially not waterproof.
- Do not use a curler on your eyelashes.
- It is especially important not to rub your eyes. Choose to lightly Pat your eyes with a small Microfiber towel to dry them after cleansing your face.
- Do not manipulate your eyelashes in different positions when you sleep, clean your face or when you are removing makeup
- Carefully brush your eyelashes in the morning and/or in the evening with disposable clean mascara wand.
Following the rules above will not guarantee that your extensions will stay perfect for a very long time but this is beneficial for your natural eyelashes too. On average, you will have to return for a litte top up every 3-4 weeks or, if you want your lashes to return to their natural state, go back after 6-8 weeks for a complete new treatment. Don’t forget to nourish and care for your natural lashes. I use the Nutriol Eyelash treatment.
My final result
I was suggested a complete 3D sophisticated pose and I loved it! I was rather nervous because I was afraid of it being painful or else, but actually it was quite comfortable. My eyes are not very sensitive so they weren’t much red at the end of the treatment, as may be the case for some women.
I confess that sometimes I have really want to scratch my eyes or even to put mascara, but beside this, we don’t feel the extentions at all and we get used to it right away.
On the other hand, having, basic, long and thick eyelashes, I was advised an eyelash enhancement for next time. Would you be interested in having more information about this treatment option?
